Ingredients
1 1/2 cup flour
2 cups stone ground corn meal
1/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
2 cups milk
1/4 cup oil
Directions
Mix dry ingredients together. Beat eggs, milk and oil together. Add wet to dry ingredients and combine quickly.
Don’t over mix.
Heat oven to a whopping 425, with a knob of Crisco (1-2 table- spoons) in an iron skillet. When the skillet is hot and Crisco is melted, pour in cornbread batter. Return skillet to oven and bake 25- 35 minutes, until nicely browned.
Turn out on a wooden cutting board and serve with butter and honey
